Gust Front with Cumulonimbus
« on: July 21, 2015, 09:04:46 PM »
Never was much good at taking photos, but I think this is probably the best picture I have ever taken (Not saying much compared to some of the folks on here  ;) ). The greyish black clouds are part of a gust front that you can see on the radar image below, and this sunshine-illuminated cumulonimbus (Taken at sunset) was forming right along it. I thought it might be worth sharing! The red marker in the radar image shows where I was located in West Virginia  :-)

In context, Joe, it is a really interesting shot once you've explained the situation. Including the radar image puts it all into perspective. Nice job!  =D>

Thanks guys! And Kaymann, you and Aquatic have taken some FANTASTIC photos over the years here on the forum. I frequently set your photos as my desktop screen on my computer, so it is really great to hear that compliment from you! 8-) I tried to add some information on it just so that you all could see where the clouds originated  :-)
