Weather Equipment I saw while on vacation.
« on: June 21, 2009, 07:17:38 PM »
While on vacation in the Nags Head area of North Carolina, I came across a number of interesting weather related instruments and displays.  So I tried to photograph them.  I did notice that in that area, there was a large number of Davis and OS weather stations mounted on the home and business down there.  Some of them were placed outside very well, others were placed poorly.  (Such as an anemometer place below a roof line, of a home).

You can take a look at my photos by going to my website and looking at the "Weather & Station Photos" then Clicking on "Nags Head Vacation Weather Related Photos".

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

Sam,
First of all I really like your website.  Nice layout =D>.  Easy on the old eyes.  The pictures of the Wright Brothers weather equipment is awesome :!:  I bet it worked very well too.  I remember seeing on a TV program an instrument to test wing shapes on to measure lift.  Those guys were on the ball but I did not know they had that kind of weather equipment.  Never really even crossed my mind .  Really great stuff.  Thanks for posting them. \:D/

Thanks Mark, I was not expecting on finding those items, it was a nice vacation bonus.  if anyone that looks at the computer displays can figure out what software is used, that would be great.
