Looks like a roll cloud.

Looks like a roll cloud.
Sure does, however roll clouds usually proceed a squall or front so you'd think the radar would be rather lit up.

There wasn't any major wind to speak of.  No significant rain either.

I had a shot in another direction to show the length of it but lost it somehow.

The only think I can think of is that is was only part of the longer line.  Radar was more colorful both sides of me as I was sort of dry slotted.  But even the other areas didn't show as much activity as the picture might indicate.

Why don't you e-mail (I assume people still do that) the pic to your local NWS and see what they say?

Looks like a Shelf Cloud; look at the Community Cloud Atlas in the sticky in this forum. Great resource!  :!:
