OK John,
couple of things:
I have successfuly created a db for you - sorry it did take a bit longer, I had to create another script for the conversion and then import and convert it one by one and since you have 6yrs of data * 12 months... plus it is in 1minute intervals so the import did take slightly longer, which brings me to the next point.
I have now a ready SQL file for you, which you basically, just upload to your server, the problem is however, that as I mentioned your db is relatively big - 318MB, which is ok for the mysql, but on ok for posting here as attachment or sending it via email
Do you know about any good sharing site where I could upload this? Or theoretically I could try to upload it to meteotemplate.com temporarily into some folder, send you link and then delete it once you download it. I have a faster connection at work so I could do that tomorrow, here at home it would take probably like yrs to upload
Otherwise the actual conversion proceeded successfuly, just be careful with the units. You told me your new values are in mmHg, however they are in fact in mb (or hPa - same thing), but mmHg is something different, mmHg are also used as pressure units, but it is yet another value, different from inHg and hPa (mb), but I noticed it because the actual values corresponded to hPa (numbers in the range of approximately 970 to 1050).
Let me know what you think is the best way. Another option would also be you would temporarily change your MySQL password, I would connect to your MySQL and I would actually upload the SQL file directly to your db and also set up all the necessary things there so that you could continue with just the updates.
And last thing - just want to repeat what I emphasized in the wiki, the great thing is that once the db is created (which it now is), you never have to worry about it any more. This is probably the most difficult part, but once successfuly finished, everything will now be hopefully running smoothly and you dont even need to know what exactly I did to get to this point as you will never need to create the db again (given you make sure you have a back up of this file just in case)
Let me know how you want to do it and I hope tomorrow the latest we will have your site up and running with all the history as well
