UV readings useless on Bloomsky
« on: March 10, 2016, 01:57:23 PM »
Why have they got  UV sensor when the stupid thing does not even give anywhere accurate readings?

It's a total waste of space. Mine never gets above low at any time of the day.

At night should read 0.

Have an Ambient ws 1001 clone and has UV index and that works fine. At night it's 0 and during the course of the day increases or falls.

In New Zealand we are known to have the highest UV in rates in the world, yet the sensor on the Bloomsky is totally useless.

I did read in the manual says something about it needs to be square on into the sun or any angle won't give correct readings, so if that's the case then why did they even bother? It's totally a waste of space.

I noticed earlier last week my UV readings went way down. Couldn't figure out why until I realized it coincided with me turning the camera angle down instead of having it straight up.
Was just trying to improve the image but apparently the UV sensor needs to be pointing straight up to get a correct reading.

It seems your getting a better sky shot now that you moved the angle on BS?
