Automatic time sync
« on: December 21, 2016, 09:56:36 AM »
Hi all
I am new to this group and have a wmr200 weather station.  My problem is that my display unit is located in a basement where it cannot receive the WWVB signal to autosync the time.  This may not be a problem specific to the 200 perhaps but I am wondering if anyone has any information about building an internal antenna or some other way of enabling my unit to pick up the WWVB signal.  Unfortunately the internal clock in the 200 is not very accurate and there is no way that I know of to autosync the 200 to computer time but the software uses the wmr200 time in sending reports.  I use cumulus as my weather software.

Any thoughts would be gratefully welcomed.

Try hanging a "long-wire" antenna outside the house and run the feeder wire into the house and wrap a few wraps around your console (for quasi inductive coupling).
