Topic: VWS and VPN

I am running VWS 15p3 on my Dell from my Davis Vantage Vue. In all the years of running, I have never had problems till now. I just started using a VPN (privateinternetaccess.com) for improved data security on business stuff on my network. I am using an Asus NT-R66 router. When I put the VPN on the router so that all connected devices are covered by VPN I run into problems with VWS. I ftp VWS to a website and when VPN is turned on in router, the transmission starts but never completes. VWS reports to WeatherUndergound and other services but not to my website. What am I missing with regards to the FTP?
