5n1 high temps fan IS running?
« on: June 26, 2017, 06:55:28 PM »
My 5n1 Pro is showing high temps everything is fine when it's cloudy but soon as the sun hits it temps start to clime the fan is running I confirmed it many times it is NOT roof mounted it's not getting any radiant heat. I hear the fan running but it sounds like it's running slower can these motors over time slow down? I think if it was running faster it would draw more air up through.

I would recommend lubricating the fan motor, or replacing the motor. IT will never get any better, that I can guarantee if you just let it alone.

You said the temp & all is good until the sun comes out. That is a sign something is wrong with either the motor, wiring, or solar panels. Some have reported solar panel issues.

Does anyone know what these panels put out? I could try to get a reading.

I have the Pro with dual panels.

I have the same 5 in 1 that you do. If your 5 in 1 is in the sun its picking up radiant heat from the sun. I built a 6in thick insulated structure to inclose my temp sensor and have no more temp spikes like yours. Which means my temp sensor is located remotely from the 5 in 1 unit. If your interested in moving your sensor PM me and I'll be glad to share what I did.

Here's my 5 in 1 with the fan running full speed compared to my tower sensor inside a radiation shield.  Thankfully I'm using the tower sensor as my primary temp/hum sensor when sending data.

 That's terrible, especially with a fan. Is your tower sensor aspirated?

Nope...just inside a radiation shield and is on the same post as my 5 in 1.

I see why so many complain about the 5 in 1 being in the sun. Wow.

If the fan is running full speed, then the air sensor is malfunctioning. Try taking out the batteries, slide the A B C switch around a few times, return it to original position, and reinsert batteries. Report back if anything changes. I think the rush of air must do something to these air sensors, because mine did the same BS for a while with high temps like that. I didn't realize what fixed it until much later, and that was doing what I posted above.

Yeah something's going on if the fans full speed and you got temps like that.

Does anybody know what motor would be a direct replacement anybody got a link?
