Getting my PWS on my Android
« on: April 18, 2015, 05:47:07 PM »
Greetings:

I just installed my Ambient 1400-IP today and have it connected to Wunderground. So far so good. What I would like to do now, since this unit has no dedicated monitor, is get my PWS data on my Android phone in a nice looking format. What are my options? I understand that there is no PWS monitoring app yet for Android and I can't seem to get my PWS to show up on the station list on Wunderground app for Android. (Is that temporary?)

I was thinking, if there is a widget somewhere that will allow me to embed my WU weather sticker, that would be one route.

Ideas?

Thanks. That will do. It's a bit clumsy, but it beats nothing.

I use the app that Jachym posted and find it works just fine on my galaxy s3 but I tend to leave it in portrait orientation.

The description for Sunny Day doesn't mention Weather Underground or Ambient. Are you sure it will work with my setup? So far, I'm okay with the Weather Station app.

Supports WU.  Not sure if your station is supported.  Ask the developer.  Davis (downld02.txt) is supported.

I'm waiting for WU to deploy WunderStation on Android; it looks great on an Ipad mini.  WU PWS meteorologist said they are working on the Android version. For now I just go to WU on the internet on my G5 to see my WS-1001 data and webcam.

Does the Wunderstation app for iOS show your internal house temps measurements? I have an Android and I'm waiting for an app that shows that information. If not, are there any apps that can tap into that information?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.br0xen.SunnyDay&hl=en  will display the downld02.txt file that includes all the sensors on your station.  I  can't recal if it allows you to display the other temps on the widget itself.  The developer used to  post on this form; ask via the link I gave you to be certain.

If that is so it is disappointing as the advertized ability to monitor indoor temp with the AW 1400 IP was one of the main reasons I went with this model. Are you running this model weather station with the Wunderground app?

That is incorrect, I have "indoor" (temp/humidity) displayed on our iPad. The indoor temp/humidity panel has to be selected additionally, within the app.

Downloaded the Weatherstation app for Android a couple days ago. Worthless. Not worth downloading even if free. Emailed for refund no reply. Tried to write a review on Google play was blocked some how saying I downloaded a beta version. If so why did I pay $2.00 + dollars. Don't care about the small change, just pissed that assholes can do this.

Looked in Google Play; yeah, Weatherstation looks like a stinker.

Still waiting for Wunderstation.

I bought "Sunny Day".  Never use it.  Not sure if it even exists any more.

You can test "myPWS" a app for Android & iOS.

This app display indoor and outdoor data if work in the same wiFi and the outdoor data by Wunderground if you mobil device is  in another WiFi or 3G/4G.

It's a tiny design.

I checked the play store and the myPWS app is $2.22 but there is another app for free called APP2000.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.joanpao.app2000&hl=en

I installed it on my Android, it takes about 15-20 seconds before the data is loaded but it found my AW1001 Wifi without any setup.  The data presented is matching the console in realtime.

The app "myPWS" is for ws2600 Foshk and clones (ws-1400-ip Ambient Weather ... The model without tft display pws) and the "app2000" is for hp1000 & hp2000 Foshk and clones (ws-1001-wifi ambient seather ...  It's the  PWS model with colot tft display).
We will release a app for Weatherbridge (iOs & Android) soon.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I am in exactly the same situation as OP. 2 years later, still no Wunderstation for Android (very disappointing :(), so what are people using in its place?

This will pull your data from WU for you. Which is better than nothing.

Thanks for that, as default it isn't available in my country (oooh, I hate that so much). What is the name of the app? Could really do the trick for me!

WeatherCloud allows you to see internal readings. I have my WS-2950 reporting to both WU and WeatherCloud. WU is good for forecasting but I like WeatherCloud for viewing my PWS stats- nice GUI too. Only your outdoor readings are available to the public; if you log in you can see your internal readings. https://app.weathercloud.net/d8767725858#current
