1-5 Day Precip & 6-14 Day Extended Outlook
« on: February 03, 2013, 06:22:42 PM »
Hi Folks,

Thought I would contribute some more scripts.  Attached is a .zip with 7 files in it.  A readme.txt is included.  There are 4 .php files, 1 .css file, 1 .js file, and 1 .txt.

The first page will allow you to see the 1-5 day precip forecasts from the HPC with the ability to hover over the given day and show the corresponding map below.

The other 2 pages will let you see the 6-14 day extended outlook from the CPC with the same ability listed above.

For those who have downloaded the SPC scripts that I posted earlier, you will not need to copy over the jquery-latest.js and both of the thickbox files again, as they are the same.

Hopefully , they will work as advertised.

Enjoy!!!

Thanks John. They seem to work OK.  I added a headline to one page and may make other minor additions to the other pages.   I thought I better change some links that were pointing to your web site to mine.  I figured you would appreciate that.

The new pages are at:

http://stillwaterweather.com/wx/wx5dayprecip.php
http://stillwaterweather.com/wx/wx614.php
http://stillwaterweather.com/wx/wxextented.php

Also the 2nd home page using modified AltDashboard 6.95 at http://stillwaterweather.com/2ndhome.php

Thanks John!
Do you have or have you thought of doing some "Snow" coverage scripts like these. They are really neat and I appreciate your efforts.

Hi Joe,

I haven't even thought of doing snow maps, as we do not receive much snow down here on a regular basis.  Our snows end up like the one we had over Christmas, with 450,000 without power, lots of tree/powerline damage, etc.  Normally we get freezing rain, sleet, etc. here.  For the record the snowstorm over Christmas is the second largest I have ever seen in Central AR.  Back in the 80's, we had 12 inches or so in Little Rock.  Nobody got out for a week in town.  I may have to look at this and see.

Hi John, I hear you on the snow.
I lived in Memphis for one year Jan 85 to Jan 86.... when it did snow, the world stopped, in Memphis.

Thanks for your consideration.

Hi Folks,

Thought I would contribute some more scripts.

A new area you might like to consider going to for more scripts is space weather.  A source is http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/

Also the 2nd home page using modified AltDashboard 6.95 at http://stillwaterweather.com/2ndhome.php

Thanks once again for the scripts John.
I combined them and added them to my main forecast page.

Hi John,

Thank you again for another great script.

I am having the following issues and seek your help and advice.

On the wx614.php when I click on the discussion box it takes me to your website. Is there a reason for that?  lebanontnwx.org/wx614.php

On the wxextended.php I get the extended discusion as the default on the page and when I click on any of the 6-10 or 8-14 foorecast links in the box it brings up the map at the bottom of the page way over to the left and then only about 1/2 the map shows. Any ideas? lebanontnwx.org/wxextended.php

As for the 5 day precip php are you planning to add the 7 day QPF forecast graphic?

Let me know. Thanks again.
