« on: January 25, 2011, 01:16:43 PM »
Anyone got one yet?  The drip ring is a good idea.  Finally.  http://www.davisnet.com/weather/products/weather_product.asp?pnum=07904

This is a surprise. Is there a reason for this ?

Prolly 'cause the old one sucked (water leak).  And the brass tip likely provides better  wind dir readings.

That integral drip ring on the vane has been there for several years as I have a spare anemometer (that for various reasons never got mounted) that has one.  Maybe they changed the shape of the drip ring though because it looks like the plastic hub that used to project above the vane's shaft has been trimmed down.  Mine doesn't have the brass tip either.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.  I like the looks of it and I would think the new tip is much more efficient as well.  I might get one next Spring.
