« on: September 21, 2018, 12:16:18 AM »
Hi guys,

I would like to connect my Weatherlink IP to my Meteobridge (TPLink TL-MR3020).

My problem is that I cant figure out why my live data is not working..

MB Settings:
Type of Connection: Wireless Lan
LAN Bridge: Integrate client on Meteobridge's LAN adapter into WLAN Check
IP 192.168.1.156

My MB Settings before is
Type of Connection: Wireless Lan uncheck
IP 192.168.1.156
But my WeatherlinkIP is connected via routher.. not in the MB RJ45 hub

It works.. but now I wanted to connect my weatherlinkIP via the MB Lan.. but i cant figure it out..

I had the same problem trying to get the Meteobridge to get data from an ObserverIP. Different network device but probably the same issue.

My theory...and I may be totally wrong here....is that you can't use the Ethernet port on the Meteobridge to read weather data from the logger. You need to instead plug in your WeatherlinkIP into the network router or network switch. It seems to me that the Meteobridge will allow a device to get an IP address and end up on the network if its Ethernet port is used but even though you've properly check the box to make it a LAN bridge, the Meteobridge won't see that device itself on its LAN port when it is connected via WiFi. Strange because other computers on the network see the device connected to the Meteobridge's LAN port while its on WiFi.

So change how you have it connected and it should work. That might suck if you need to then run an Ethernet line to the display console. I ended up using an old WiFi router that I put in wireless client mode to act as a wireless bridge. I'll eventually get around to running an Ethernet line.

Have you tried a crossover cable?

A normal/standard Ethernet cable is a straight thru.

So, instead of me being long winded

It might, as both those devices are the same computing type device. I doubt if the ObserverIP supports Automatic crossover due to its limited cpu power and memory.
The Meteobridge as we use it, does not run its standard OS, so who knows.

It is worth a try. If you have a RJ45 crimp tool, a X-over cable is easy and quick to make. I always make mine with red cables so it is easy to spot and know what it is especially in a network or server rack.

Go to the Weather Station Tab
Select Davis VP
From the drop down select IP upload frequency
Type in the IP Address of you Weather Link IP

Click Save.

If this does not work try shutting down the console fully removing both power and batteries, then restart allow about 5-10 minutes to see if this resolved the connection issue.

Also ensure there is no other software connecting to your WeatherLink IP
