WU/StrikeStar RADAR now flakey
« on: November 16, 2017, 09:11:26 AM »
Background:

As I recall, years ago, WU wanted to use our Boltek/StrikeStar/NexStorm lighting data on radar maps, and in return, as data contributors, StrikeStar members could use the resulting images on their websites. We even have wider area images for the regional network members.

I then applied my PHP GIF animation script to it and the result is the main radar I use on SLOweather. In the last week or so, there are times when the radar data is missing... These are this morning's 90 minute loops. :(

Do you have any information on their problems.  I use their radar on my site.  www.SkunkBayWeather.com  I have reported the "frequent" intermittent issue of a black screen with "Radar Down For Maintenance" with them and haven't heard anything....

It has been happening for a few weeks. There is a thread somewhere.

Just remember-It's not you, It's WU.

Yah, I found a couple of threads, but they were just acknowledging the problem.  No real information about the cause or a pending solution....  I just hope they can fix it and don't drop the service.....
