Beautiful Day In The Pacific NorthWet
« on: November 12, 2009, 03:49:05 PM »
We are experiencing a temporary reprieve from the rain today.... lot's of nasty weather on the way.  I try to change out the photos on the header of my site frequently.  I have two photos of Mount Baker taken this morning. They are hyperlinked to the full size photo.  You can click on the photo and zoom in on the mountain.  The one on the left really shows the detail of the mountain.  It is beautiful today.  www.skunkbayweather.com

Thought I would share,

That is a nice view.
I envy you with your "nasty weather on the way". I hate winter in Florida. Just nice sunshine weather everyday. :-(
If I ever do retire the Pacific NW would be high on my list. That is, during the winter. Summertime I'll be down here.

I always love the views you have in your area!

When you can see them...  ;)

We've had a string of several nice warm days here.  Supposed to get near 70F tomorrow again.  Sooner or later November reality has got to return.

I love the 7 day forecast - 6 straight days of "RAIN" and then on Friday you get a break with "SHOWERS"...

Yeah I  got one and there 2 or 3 in town. They are still feeding and no salmon in the streams for them now that the runs are over. Need good cold snap to settle them in for the winter,
Blacks can be a real pain in the butt once they get use to man around them. Most of these are the old  dump bears.

You would think after all these years a bear proof dump would be available. I have seen videos of bears just walking over piles of trash up there just helping themselves.
It could be done but the governments don't want to pay for it.

What? .... Mark.... You can't see the mountain through the clouds in that picture?  I guess we just have a more developed sense of vision around here.....

Been bear proof here that why they are  roaming. the trash is shipped south to Oregon. The money you would spend to bear proof here would really be a waste espically where villages are so far and scatteres around the area.

Thanks Upweather.  I just realized that I changed the photo at the top of my page since I originally posted this.  There is always something going on out there.  Right now on the left side I caught a picture of a Trident sub going by with the Victoria Clipper and Mt. Baker in the background.  The Trident subs come by quite often on sea trials with Coast Guard escorts.  They are pretty awesome.  The Coast Guard boats don't allow anybody to get too close to them anymore.....  Two weeks ago I watched a rescue boat coming across from Whidbey Island with his blue lights flashing.  I put the binoculars on him and saw a man in the water about a half mile out.  Turns out it was a wind surfer that got into trouble.  We had about 40mph winds that day.  While I had the binoculars on him, a pod of killer whales went by in the background...... Do ya think I would have picked up my camera..... ](*,)  Nope.  I was too interested in watching all that was going on..... #-o

How good is your sling shot?  Suppose they'd notice a nice flat rock bouncing off their tin can?
