Cincinnati area - Davis Vantage Pro 2
« on: November 08, 2015, 08:19:26 PM »
I installed the unit late last week.  The anemometer is temporary until I can get in on the roof (probably wont be until the spring.  The solar panel faces west - hopefully it gets enough light to keep the super cap full so the battery lasts.  The bottom of the radiation shield is 4' 9" off the ground.   I may leave it on the fence or I may get a 5' tall post and bolt it to the fence post or sink in in the ground against the fence to get it a little higher.  I also have meteobridge running which is pretty cool!  Thanks to everyone for their advice!

You can find it here:

My next step is to get a dedicated web site running..  That will take some research - Any good hosting sites out there that anyone can recommend?

Looks good! Remember that you want your rain bucket easily accessible to inspect and clean out bird poo.

For some reason Weather Underground has you located in Ohio, Ohio (should that be Kings Mills or Hopkinsville?) and using a cabled VP2.

4'9" to the bottom of the shield would place the sensor very close to the standard 5'0", so I would not worry about a taller post...as long as the fence post doesn't move in the wind.

If address is correct, its WU screw up. 39.340 -84.230 is 100 miles away from Ohio,Ohio. Not much you can do other than send them an email. Doing new station will result in same results most likely.
