Excellent showing of your equipment and station.  The webcams give a fantastic view.  The English and Greek side by side really help me navigate your webpage (actually the English is all I understand but it is awesome to see both).

Great website, I too like the idea of the two langauges side by side, and having the webcam pics built in is really good.

I admire you're old homemade radiaton shield, using what looks like and old fan from a PC? =D> good stuff.

Lovely area you are in by the looks of it.

Well done and thanks for sharing, good luck with your site Kostas.

Kostas,

Thanks for posting your pictures. It is always interesting to see a variety of installations for different situations.

How does your home-made shelter temperature compare with the Davis? The home-made shelter is very interesting and looks like it should work well.

I am curious about one thing though. The ISS antenna is horizontal. Is your console directly below and this was the best orientation?

Those are some very nice looking stations.  It looks like you're up high enough to get good wind readings.  Looking at the map, it looks like you're stuck out in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.  I'll bet you get some interesting weather out there.

There is another forum member Weather1967 (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=profile;u=368) from Greece (Athens).  He has done some very interesting modifications and experiments to stations, too.

Your site is easy to read and is well done.  :)

@ ukwoody

It is fan from an old pc, you are very observant  ;)

This is the best area for the eastern cam.

@ miraculon

Davis is about 0.5 to 1.5 c below national. I tried my best, but i cannot reach davis factory

The ISS antenna is horizontal because the console is just below the station.

@  Slow Modem

This area is very interesting. We have a lot of rain in winter, snow in the mountains in camera, thunderstorms in spring, summer and autumn.
Yearly rain is about 1000 mm per year.

I know Weather1967  :-)

You will enjoy my timelapse if you have a look in my youtube channel.

When i have time i will post some very interesting photos from storms and wall clouds i have pictured till now.

Hi Kostas,

The quality of your webcam images is excellent. What cameras do you use? And do you run your own web server? The bandwidth must be very high with those images updated twice a minute.

Thanks Ray.
East camera is Logitech C905 HD. http://kalamata.meteoclub.gr/webcam/kalathi.html
West camera is Logitech C310 HD. http://kalamata.meteoclub.gr/webcam/kalamata.html
I do not run my own web server, Meteoclub.gr gives me hosting. I am a member and hosting is free.

Thanks for that info Kostas. I'm surprised how inexpensive those cameras are. Clearly you have installed them in a good housing which is why I thought they were expensive IP webcams.

You're very lucky to get free hosting with the amount of bandwidth those images consume! I'm also very impressed with the time-lapse movie on YouTube.  =D>

Can you provide a daytime picture from your C310? I never seem to be able to check the view until it's night time for you! Thanks!

Kostas,

You have some great still photos in your ImageShack albums.

I spent quite a bit of time admiring your still photos.  My favorites are images of the "Roll" clouds - very sweet and on my bucket list.

I did a little cleaning maintenance today.
Before

and after

The good thing is i did not find any spiders. Only dirt and mud.

morfeas2002,

Two years later - can you believe how time flies by.  You have inspired me to clean up my sensors.  Obviously you had a lot of work in front of you but the end results look absolutely awesome.
