Weather station battery question
« on: April 03, 2009, 09:12:22 AM »
I have a wireless Vantage Pro2 6152 weather station.  I am getting a "low battery on station 1" message on my console.  It looks like the station uses a 3 volt lithium battery (CR-123A) according to my manual.  My question is:  Do I get a "regular" battery or this this a "rechargeable" battery?

Thanks

This is a "regular" lithium battery and is not a rechargeable.  You can find then at your local Walmart or maybe even your big box hardware store or online for even cheaper prices.

Thanks, folks.  I'll try Wal-Mart first.

Ok, I replaced the battery, but I still have the "low battery" message.  Is there something else I should do?  I can't find any procedure in the manuals.  My unit seems to still be working.

Thanks

Found this thread.   Seems one solution is to wait a day (I know OS wmr968 says to wait a few hours after changing console battery, but stattions sensor are instant), the other says to put your console in "setup mode" then exit out, probelm solved...

I woudl try the setup mode way, I like instant gratification.

Thanks, Andrew.   Entering and exiting Setup Mode eliminated the message.   I like instant gratification, too.   I hadn't used setup mode since I installed my Vantage Pro2 over 2 years ago.

I realize this is a little late. But, it seems like I read somewhere that you should go to setup mode when changing the battery in the ISS?

Thanks,

Is there a difference between the lithium 123 and 123A?
