Alternative to Weatherbug?
« on: August 13, 2012, 06:27:02 PM »
Hi all. New here.

I've been using Weatherbug on my Windows 7 PC desktop for years now, but it quit working on May 2nd and nothing has been successful since, to get it going again. I tried uninstalling it, even using Revo Uninstaller, and reinstalling, and it just won't start up again. It gets some kind of error called BEX. The support people have had me try everything except standing on my head and spitting wooden nickels  :-) and nothing has worked.

But I like everything it does, like the humidity, rainfall that day, wind speed etc., and all using my zip code from a school station a couple miles away.

Is there an alternative to it, that does everything WB does, in the same kind of tray popup format? Like a clone or something?

You might also look around weather underground.  They have a lot of applications and maps and data and stuff.  Also you can look around weatherforyou.com, too

Oh what fun! I can try various ones and see what I like best.

I'm a little nervous about "Weather Underground", recalling that they went around bombing things back in the 60's.  :-(

Ack! The Weather.com one just started scanning my computer! Delete! Delete!

Weather fascinates me though. I keep thinking of ways to make rain where it's needed, and stop hurricanes and such.

This is what I've been using:

For some reason this isn't listing the Normals in that column. Odd. I'm using Deane Elementary School in Lakewood, Colorado.

This is also odd: I've got it setup to update every minute, but it's still giving me readings from 10 PM last night and won't update. WTF???
