Yes you have to install it 1 time. It's no biggie and does no harm to your PC. Did you view it in IE?

I put the exposure time to 2 seconds at night. Pretty good image and there's a storm rolling in too!

The Axis 211 software generates a code to embed in a site. My Dlink 932L uses Webcam 7. You might be wondering where my Panasonic went. It's a security cam now.

Hi Ryan,

I have this camera also and plan to put it up when time permits.  Do you have it outside with a weather resistant housing?  Just wondering as I have a housing also.  Just have to find the time to mount it outside and run a CAT5 to my network through a POE.  Hope to have it up by the end of this month if all goes well.  Any tips that I should be aware of?  I am presently using a Panasonic BL-C1A that has been in use for a couple years now..

Catch you later,

Focus the camera before you mount it. Disable the Iris in settings then enable it when it's focused. This is important or you will mess up the lense.  Yes mine is in an outdoor housing. I'm also using a 100 ft of Cat5e cable that's connected to my gigabyte switch to provide data and power. I use the Axis software to provide the stream. I will post a pic of it soon.

Thanks Ryan for your input.

I got the camera working on the bench and all seems to be okay.  I will probably set the lens to full zoom and set it to full infinity and see what happens.  I don't have the Axis software as I bought it through eBay for a good price that did not include a power supply and software.  Just the camera.  I have the POE that works with it, so that will be in line with the CAT 5 to the camera from my network. Had a hard time getting the outdoor housing as most places do not ship to Hawaii for some reason.

Hope all goes well in the install later as time permits this month.

Regards,

You don't need the power adapter if you go the POE route. You do need a POE adapter. One cat 5 from box to camera and the other runs to router or switch. Email me your email and I will send the software.

Hi Ryan,

PM'ed you through your contact on your web site.  Hope that you got it.

Thanks for the support for this project.

Will take a look at the software and hope to get it working before the end of this month.

I am aware of the POE as I did not want to run two lines to the camera, which will be outside in the housing that I have.

Regards,

Here ya go Stan. Click on Axis IP Utility and there it is. Thought it might be easier doing it this way.

Here are my 2 cams. The Dlink 932L is on the right and Axis 211 is on the left.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the link will take a look at it and see what it does.  What does the Camera Management do?  Looks like you have to register for it...

Will let you know of the progress for my install.  First step is to mount the housing outside and run the CAT5 cable.

Thanks again for your input.

Hi,

Finally got my Axis 211 camera setup and on my web site at www.dwayneyamato.com/wx/wxskycam.php and www.dwayneyamato.com/wx/ for a still shot that updates about every 5 minutes..

That mountain behind those trees is at 10,000 feet ASL and I am at 1,500 feet ASL.

At least it is working for now.

Thanks Ryan for your inputs.
