PHP Kicking my butt!
« on: April 23, 2008, 05:38:02 PM »
I've been struggling to get some codes to work on my site.  I had the codes working fine until a server switch, so I suspect it has to do with that.
I spent hours trying to modify Ken's GRLevel3 radar image script/animator to work. I finally got it to work by stripping the code that gets the "basic environment".

So now I'm trying to get the carterlake.org resize/cache script to work for the mini radar image.
I added script to my page to print the error, and here's what I got....

Array ( [type] => 2 [message] => filesize() [function.filesize]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/local/apache/htdocs./radar/kfsd_br248_0.jpg) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) [file] => /home/a3776877/public_html/radar/miniradar3.php [line] => 22 )

I just can't understand how this servers file system works or something. The paths are all screwy.
When I open a file browser, or my ftp;
nexrad2008.php lies in my root
The radar images, and miniradar3.php lie in the /radar/ directory.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
God Bless,
Shawn Pope

Unfortunately, I can offer no help (being a PHP jouneyman myself); however, fwiw, I did get a good laugh at your subject line.  :lol:

Are you still having an issue?

I see that the script at http://www.sdweathergeek.com/radar/GR3-radar-inc.php is working on your site.

Do you have the URL for the page that uses the script that is having the issue?

Best regards,
Ken
