3 Cam Panorama Time Lapse
« on: November 28, 2014, 01:51:42 PM »
I have been off the grid for a while now.  I just finished a complete redesign of my site and added a 3rd cam.  I still have some work to do with it, but I thought I'd share this 60 second time lapse from yesterday (Thanksgiving).  It was blowing all day with gusts to 45mp.  With the 3rd cam I am able to capture the whole view.  Aligning and synchronizing all of them is no small task, but I am learning every day.

Today the wind switched to the north and is gusting to 40.  Plus, the temp has dropped about 15 degrees.  Chance of a little snow tonight...

Wow that is some good stuff.   I bet it is going to be really hard to keep those things aligned.

When I get the enclosure and camera mounts finished, I'll post pictures.  It really comes down to understanding the relationship of each cams azimuth.  The mounts have to be adjusted... on a firm surface so the don't come out of adjustment.  Once they are vertically aligned, then it is easy to adjust the x/y coordinates with the Sebectec software.  You can overcome the difference between the cams by fine tune rotating in the Sebectec software, but it slightly changes the dimension of the image, which is a problem with a panorama.  So, I am going to mechanically make those adjustments.... I hope....

GregJ this is the first time I noticed the second flag - is that a neighbors?
The video is fantastic and current alignment looks great!

Long story behind that.  We've tried to mail letters under it... Because it is way nicer than the one at the Post Office.
The previous owners spent a fortune on that.  Complete with opening ceremonies, a podium and the owner gave a speech with epaulets on a white shirt...(No military background)  It was uhmmmm.... Quite an event.  He liked to drink a lot....  ;)

I do like having the second flag.  I have all this technology here to give you all you want to know about the wind.... but there is no substitute for a flag.

Very nicely done!  =D> I wish I had a view to do something like that. If I did that it would be a line of trees and no one wants to see that.

I like how you incorporated the flag and tree into your logo. Nice touch as it is like a trademark for your location.
