    Not only can you  make your own movie, you can download archived, or realtime, SOHO images and search for Sungrazing comets.  This link is an article about SOHO discovering it's 200th comet.  It is amateur astronomers who search SOHO images that make many of the discoveries.  Anyone can do it, but it is tedious :shock:.  I tried it a couple years ago with no sucess.  Maybe I will try it again.

ADD ON:  I should mention you need a way to eliminate suspects from images so that you don't report a false alarm.  They don't like that too much.  There are numerous objects that may look like a comet.  And you need to know if it was already reported by someone else especially from archived images.
