Webcam FTP Error -- Max Users?
« on: January 12, 2018, 10:57:50 AM »
My webcam is set to upload every 10 minutes, but it's very sporadic.  Right now it's been 12 hours.  This has been the norm since all their server troubles the past couple of weeks.

I was doing some testing and tried to log into the webcam FTP server using Filezilla and get this error:

Status:         Resolving address of webcam.wunderground.com
Status:         Connecting to 54.148.11.142:21...
Status:         Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response:    421 50 users (the maximum) are already logged in, sorry
Error:           Could not connect to server

50 Max users???

I did send this to Wunderground support, but don't expect any reply.  Thought I'd post it here too.

I've seen that error message lots of times over the last few months. It's a WU problem. I've given up on them.

I don't pay much attention anymore because it's always broken anymore, the new norm for WU.
The two ftp servers hosted by Amazon are both reporting the maximum of 50 users are already attached.  And the one hosted by Microsoft is up, but not allowing connections, no error messages.   I did finally connect to one of the Amazon servers, however logins failed.  So there appears to be multiple issues again.
