Greetings,

Ambient Weather has developed a hosting service that supports all of your sensors (indoor and outdoor), as well as email and text alerts.

It is currently in a beta testing phase. You are welcome to participate in the beta testing.  Simply power down and up your WeatherBridge or WeatherBridgePro, and select the WeatherNetwork panel:

Next, visit:

https://dashboard.ambientweather.net/dashboard

and create an account, and enter the Mac address found on the WeatherBridge or WeatherBridgePro Weather Network panel.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

1. How do I report a  bug?

To report a bug, visit:

http://www.ambientweather.com/bugreport.html

2. How long will the beta test period last?

We can not give you a fixed date, but we expect the beta test to last a few months.

3. How much will the service cost?

There will be a one time fee for beta testers, but we have not set the price yet.

4. Is there an app I can download to my mobile device?

Since the website is mobile friendly and responsive, an app is not required. Just open any browser and visit:

https://dashboard.ambientweather.net/dashboard

Next, add a shortcut on your home screen.

5. Will AmbientWeather.net support IFTTT and Alexa?

Not at the moment, but we are planning integration into these types of devices.

It is free for now. At some point in time, we will recover some of our development costs with a one time fee. I will say that it has been very bug free.

Ed

Is the service restricted to only Ambient rebranded boxes? Or any Meteobridge/Pro?

It supports both Ambient and non-Ambient branded products. Hence the small one time fee. The recurring costs (email alerts, SMS text message, hosting and maintenance fees) amount to something.

If you sign on to the service, does the data flow direct to the site?  or via the Smartbedded site?

Looks good Ed.

How long time will the user be logged in? Or will the dashboard be public available?

1. You are logged in as long as you do not logout or delete cookies in your browser.

2. I do not understand your second question, but you must be logged in to see your own dashboard.

"Public available" = like WU and that kind. But I guess you answered my question.

No. We don't want to replace Wunderground.com with forecasts and a public network. No one really cares what your bedroom temperature is, and most users don't want to share it.

Rather, we want to do four things Wunderground does not:

1. Support indoor conditions and multiple sensors around your home.
2. Email and text alerts.
3. Clear and concise graphics for each measured parameter on mobile devices.
4. IFTTT support.

These are the features customers have been asking (begging) for.

Regards,

Ed

Ok, so this is for showing much more than just weather. I mean, it could show my pc-temperature.

If you own a Davis Instruments, they support wireless temperature probed sensors. We have not gotten that far yet with Ambient branded products.

Or if you have an Acurite system... (water sensor, temps etc. - CHEAP!)
