Possible Severe this Sunday
« on: January 20, 2017, 07:21:29 PM »
First time in a long while I've seen a "Enhanced Threat" for my neck of the woods.
It is Day 3 so things could change but they have been consistent so far with their forecasts in the AFD. At least it's a daytime event.

Dayum!
High Risk for my backyard today. That's extremely rare for my area.
Watching what is going on now with these long track tornado's in Georgia doesn't bode well for later today.

Be careful down there, Ocala. I sincerely hope it doesn't get bad for you. Last High Risk issued in January was on January 21, 1999 for AR. We had 56 tornadoes reported in the Little Rock Forecast Area.

Wow, SPC 20z update has TPA getting into the action by early evening. I'm betting not too many of you folks down there have basements, let alone storm shelters. This has bad potential all over it. :!:

That squall line in the gulf is looking more menacing by the hour. Several TVS's out there at the moment.
Also those cells out ahead of it could be particularly dangerous.
Gettin close to go time here.

During the T warning last night the whole family was piled into a interior closet.
My daughter had come home from college and brought her cat and a lizard.
Combine that with my wife, other daughter, wifes 3 cats and 2 dogs and it was a bit tight.
I had one dog pretty much on top of me and she had thee worst breath I ever smelled.
It was horrible. The cats were all in carriers. One of them decided it was a good time to take a dump.
Holy crap, pun intended, things got real stinky in there. By this time I was hoping that tornado would hit the house to put me out of my misery.
When the radar finally showed it was safe to come out you never saw 4 people move so fast to get out of there.
Tornado never touched down so all turned out well.
