5 in 1 false rain measurements.

Could this be because the sensor is moving in the wind ? The unit is mounted on a fence post that is not exactly 100 % solid. We have had some gusts up to 15 mph today.

Yes. As I look at your setup in the other thread, if the fence gets in on the shimmy act, then false tips are a possibility. Just one of tippers downfalls, they need to be solid to be their most accurate.

I put some heavy concrete pavers at the bottom of the fence post. We rent the house so we can't do too much "construction" as it were. I could maybe bury my own  4x4 post deeper into the sandy ground.

Whatever you can do (obviously within reason) to make it more sturdy, the better it will be. The whole reason I abandoned my VP2 tipper was because it's on a tripod and shimmies right good in gusty wind. I now use a Rainwise tipper wired into my VP2 and screwed into the top of a cinder block wall cap. It doesn't move.... :-)
