Acrurite 5-in-1 install, Orange Park, FL.

We have a good view to the SW, which is the dominant wind direction.
The summer thunderstorms usually come from that direction.
The huge towers are lightning prevention towers.
I raised the unit up on the steel pole as the wind direction vane was being blocked by the fence.
The temp is calibrated with another Acurite thermometer, and today they are within 1 degree of each other.

Well so far the temp reads too high and the rain gauge keeps recording false rain....other than that everything else works lol.

lot of shade there so that tells me some of the trees are adding or blocking rain.

If you don't have the 2 solar panels for the fan, it will read quite higher than ambient air temp early and late in the day when sun is on the housing. I have the 2 solar panels, and sometimes it still reads too warm. If your fence moves at all, it can tip the see saw and it will show rainfall if that happens unfortunately.

Am is fine as there are trees to the east. I might put a new 4x4 post in, and try to bury it 2 feet or more.

What's that pole made out of? If it's plastic it could be moving around giving false rain readings.

With respect to the false rain readings, how solid is the wooden fence? Is it possible that it is moving slightly in the wind?
