OK Gang,

I have had this posted for some time.  My rain gauge heater is up and runnig.  It did not go to melt down, in fact I will put up agenst any heater on the market.  You can feel the heat comming from the top.  It turns on and off as required.  I am extreamley pleased with the unit.
Thanks to the folks who freely gave me the help in developing it.

Now for the bad neews, the resistors I had up for sale all summer, just went up to $20.00 ea.

Read all of the above for the details on how to make one.  You wont find a better one.

Still comming down, started at midnight and very wet.  2.3" @ 8:00am, melted precip = 0.17" from an 8" gauge.
