IP-100 to WU
« on: December 17, 2012, 07:56:21 PM »
Are you using the Rainwise IP-100 to send your data to WU?  If so can you verify if your 'wind gusts' appear on your WU page?

Mine does not (have since shifted back to WV32 and all is well).  I've asked Rainwise to check it out.

I also use the IP-100 to feed the following:

PWS:  http://www.pwsweather.com/obs/VBBW1052.html

AWEKAS:  http://www.awekas.at/en/instrument.php?id=10117

They seem to be fine.  So my guess there is a conflict between the Rainwise IP-100 and WU with regard to the wind gusts.  I send a note to Rainwise asking for their help.

Received a note from Wayne at Rainwise...

...". I am running a beta of the next firmware release that has a fix for this. I will email everyone when its released which should be this week."

Sounds like he's on top of it.

Hey Jim... Don in Ohio here. Question for you... what do you need to purchase from RW to get your station on the Internet, basically to WU? I got a few extra $$$'s for Christmas. I'd love to get it online and in very near realtime compared to this crappy La Crosse station I'm using! Thanks!!

Hi Don

You've got 2 options available:

1.  Buy the RW CC-3000 data logger.  This device will bring your data from the station to your PC.  Then you'll need some type of weather software that supports RW & WU to push your data to the Internet.  My favorite is WV32.  You'll need the professional version.

2.  The other option which does NOT require a PC or software is the RW IP-100.  The device plugs into your network router, receives your data and then passes it to RW Net.  Simple, straight forward and no PC or software to configure.  Kinda like fast food.

Here's the link to my RW Net page:

Once you decide and if you have any questions, please let me know.  Been at this awhile and helping others is a nice extra. :-)

BTW...both options above include data transfer to WU and a few other great weather data banks you can join.

Hi Jim;

It's 44 degrees there?! Wow, I wish it were that warm here. It's 24 and wind chills have been single digits much of the day.

Does RW charge you anything to have this web page with them, or does that come with the purchase?

Thanks!

Don

Don:  The free account comes with every upload-enabled weather station (IP-100), and provides real-time data, data archiving, and export of archived data in a pre-determined format.

RW is currently working on a paid Pro Account (as low as $4.49 a month) - (Coming Soon)

A Pro account provides all the above PLUS visual graphing of data, email and SMS text alerts, a report generation engine, and enhanced exporting of data in several formats.

Rates for the Pro account:
Monthly: $5.99 per station Annual: $4.49 per month per station (total $53.91) Save 25%!

First of ALL RAINWISE STAFF ARE FANTASTIC TO WORK WITH!!

I have had a RainWise MKIII for about two years. I have my station on the roof overlooking a bay. It has worked perfectly.  Had a minor issue with the rain gauge counter and they sent a new switch quickly and I was up and running in less that a week.

This week I upgraded to the IP100 interface and now I am up and running.

The interface is great!  No computer needed it is a simple install. Register on the RainWise Net, plug it in and away you go!

I am on WU but do have some questions if anyone can help.

I received a number from CWOP  EW1850 I thought I could log on CWOP but cannot find a way to log on and verify? Also how does one get a MADIS ID?

Not that I needed any of it everything works great just thought it would be nice to be able to provide data to NOAA and NWS.
