I signed up for rainwise.net but havent gotten the station to upload thru VWS. I got home today to find my station down data logger not blinking I tried changing the battery that didnt work I think I have issue's with my VWS software to I reset my cpu to an earlier time 5 day's ago that hasnt helped either. Ill have to wait until Sat to check the actual voltage output of my battery in the weather station. Mine is a MK-III-LR ive had about 3 years. I tried it also on my Mac Mini with Weather Display software couldnt get it to work on this platform either #-o

thanks for the feedback.

I thought the Rainwise.net came with it's own software or portal interface.  Something similar to the Davis.net...?

I agree with VaJim.
RainWise sells the IP-100 network interface and has its own firmware which works only with RainWise.net hosting service utilizing their new cloud based hosting service.  IP-100 network interface cables to one's router and does not heed a computer.  Has antenna built in which receives data stream wirelessly from the MKI-LR station unit.  They also offer a Iphone/pad application and a wireless touchscreen display.  They, like Apple, and others, are migrating from need for a computer interface.
Their screen display accessed on the internet via rainwise.net allows both private and public log in options.  Only downside I can see currently is no ability for weather cam uploads but they may consider that option in future firmware upgrades.
I have ordered a IP-100 but haven't received it yet and believe my comments are correct but certainly subject to anyone's correction in forum.

Thanks Ken

I believe you are correct in the way you describe the setup.   The MKIII L-R with the Rainwise.Net is be to be my next upgrade.  I really like the looks of the new display and the overall feel and layout of the Rainwise.Net

Once you receive yours and it's up and running, you'll have to provide us some feedback as to how it went.

Received the IP-100 late today and easy, seamless install.  Still needs "tweaking" for cloud web site options but will wait till have time to do so. The interface is small, compact unit and easy to place anywhere.  Shows inside temp. on site so will eventually relocate in living room.
First take is that will be an easy method for viewing weather, especially for those not inclined to want to bother with constant monitoring of conventional Internet personal web site. It should offer error free data transmission and viewing, only limited by occasional line power interruptions which can be circumvented by a UPS.
Will comment further as gain more experience with system.

Ken:  Looks good!

Questions:

1.  Did you get the Pro version?

2.  How often does your station update Rainwise.net?

3.  The menu across the top, are those just meant for you the owner or can others login and pull your data?

4.  Are you going to link your current site to your spot on the Rainwise.net?

Thanks for sharing.

Jim...
I found out that the Pro version is a work in progress. On the RainWise.net web site they show a Pro version available, however, a click on this is disabled, and I confirmed this w/RainWise.
Updating frequency is a choice if the owner...they suggest you use the same freq. as your station uploads..I set it at 5 min. Intervals.
Anyone can use link posted in prior post to view station data...the dash board log in is controlled by the owner and place where owner can modify the site.
I am mulling over linking the sites but leaning on not doing so...will wait and see.
I would like to see in the Pro option for site owner to be able to link to other sites such as WU, CWOP,etc.
A place for a cam window would be great addition and I have mentioned this to one of their engineers.

As it stands now, the RainWise.net offers a sound, simple, low attention, web site to enable a owner of their stations to view data on the web with little knowledge of web site development. One can tell from marketing on their web site that they are marketing to farmers and Ag. And forestry people as well as others.
I feel the whole RainWise.net development is ongoing and I value their products for their design, quality and
reliability..FWIW just my humble opinion.

Ken:  Have you heard if Rainwise(Net) plans to put up a map, similar to what Davis offers on their WeatherLink?

The RainWise dashboard allows user selection of NWS listed radar maps as shown on my site.  I use Billings, Mt. Radar as located nearby.  I am not familiar with Davis Weatherlink maps.
Not sure this is answer to your question.

Ken Keyes

It's basically a global map on their home page (Weatherlink) which allows the visitor to zero in on a particular area or reporting station.

Something like this:

I have no idea if RW plans to offer such a map. I have the feeling they are busy getting all the "PRO" upgrade pieces introduced. I hope now that this Forum exists that they will view it at times and react to the comments for enhancements. I believe they will likely have the upgrade in place br 4th. Qtr.

pretty cool!  wonder why "graphs" and "history" aren't available to visitors though. I do like the page layout, clean and easy to get around in.

My thought is that there is still 'work in progress' going on.  I sent Rainwise some suggestions which include hiding the tool bar and make it only viewable to those that login (site owners).  I think the graphs and history is to be a part of future upgrades or the Pro version. I also aksed if they plan to add a global map so we can find other RainwiseNet stations easy.

I have recently purchased and have up and running the MKIII-LR with Internet I-100 data logger. The unit was easy to install and works using the rainwise.net website. I also have the iPhone and iPad app for the unit and it displays the data right away. I used the mono mount and a bracket that I purhased from a third party vendor that is an eave mounting bracket to mount the station to a 10' 4x4 weather treated post.

I installed the Ipad app and it looks great.  Real time display right on your Ipad.  It basically turns your Ipad into the multi-display.  Very cool!

You need a RainWise IP-100 network interface which uses rainwise.net cloud based server to take data from MKIII-LR station and interface firmware allows one to upload automatically to WU, RainWise.net, Weather for You, AWEKAS, and maybe one other location.  Rainwise had this Friday a sale ...check their web page for details, you might qualify for some savings.
