Bloomsky getting weird
« on: October 02, 2016, 08:41:21 PM »

In addition to this most days I miss like 2 hours worth of images.
All of the wifi devices in the house work fine so I'm not sure whats up.

could your lens be tipped a bit back too far?

One of the things I found with missing images was loss of wifi between the bloomsky and your router/modem.  Like most everything  things interfere.  I suggest if you have a smart phone  Wi-Fi SweetSpots         http://www.apppicker.com/reviews/27768/WiFi-SweetSpots-app-review

It is available for iphone and android.  What you do is set the phone wifi settings to your unit that should be receiving the signal. then you walk around until you see or hear on the phone (it makes a graph as well as a noise) Kind of like one of those metal detectors.

You then can locate your Bloomsky where it will get the optimum connection.   I found that where I wanted it had the lowest signal and where it is now the best.

I am confident that is what is happening to your pictures. it is taking the pictures but not getting them through to your network.

The camera for the topsy turvy (which for some reason made me dizzy, hmmm)  I would bet the swivel head has tipped back too far somehow.  or the lens slipped in the housing.

I'll take a look at that Aardvark. Thanks.
As for the mount, it's still firmly mounted in the upright position.
We'll see what sunrise brings.

This was posted on Facebook:

Hello BloomSky community!
We are aware of the issue that some of you experienced last week in which many users experienced missing time-lapse videos. This was the result of a server crash, and we apologize for any frustration or inconvenience the outage caused. Our back-end team was able to remedy the situation as soon as they spotted the problem, but unfortunately it occurred on a weekend which made the issue last longer than we would have liked. Even before this event, we were undergoing preparations to migrate to a new server, but this underlines part of the reason. Fortunately, we're almost there! More news on that to come, but meanwhile, we apologize for the outage last week and thank you all for your patience when little bugs like this appear!
Sincerely,
The BloomSky Team

I just thought you were in Australia.  My Sky2 and Storm should be here soon.  Now to see if my wife lets me mount it before Christmas!

The only issue i've had with my bloomsky (knock on wood) is it keeps loosing the Ifttt channel
to broadcast when the all day video is up to Twitter. I have to reactivate it every 3 or 4 days.
Maybe a Bloomsky backend issue I guess.
Tony

The camera has just about quit. At most I get maybe 5 hours of pictures a day. On a good day.
Reliability in that department has really gone down hill.
On the other hand the sensor suite is chugging along just fine. Temp, hum, ultraviolet, and pressure all work great. Battery still charges everyday so it's really just an issue with  the camera.

Contact Bloomsky .  I had to request replacement twice,  the third one seems to be working.
