Change North?
« on: December 26, 2014, 09:01:55 PM »
I have recently purchased a WS-1400-IP, and it's been working perfectly except for one thing.
I love in the southern hemisphere, where the solar panel needs to point North, not south.
To ensure my wind readings are not always 180° out, is there a way to change the compass internally, or through the unit interface?

Thanks!

So as soon as i posted this, I realised there's a calibration page where I can change the wind direction offset.
Seems to work a treat!

Welcome to the forum.  Glad the Ambient is working for you.  I am considering the 1400 station as a backup and comparison for my Rainwise.  Please let me know what you like/dislike about the Ambient.

About 4 years ago, a friend and I built a complete autonomous (charging via solar) weather station logging system that transmitted via 3G to a home server once a day. We used Inspeed components.
This system worked well, but we spent literally hundreds of hours designing and building the system.
A few years later, and for various reasons I picked up the 1400, and I have been very impressed. The setup took about 5 mins, the logging is very frequent and the Wunderground interface is very powerful. I can't comment on the calibration, but for what I want, it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

You can view the station here:
