Temp probes broken?
« on: October 30, 2017, 10:50:16 AM »
I just installed a Soil & Temp station, buried the sensors, and have found the backyard temp sensors are now reporting 150 something degress! (LOL). I pulled up the sensors, they look fine, but I'm guessing somehow they both broke.

Anything I can do or just bite the bullet and buy new ones?

If you just purchased them, return them and get new ones. If not, call Davis and have them help you troubleshoot.

For both to go bad is odd. Did you get them connected properly into the connector “jaws” . It takes a lot more force than I expected to open with a screwdriver. I was actually afraid I would break something.

Looks like when the cable was buried by the contractor, they mislabled them. They labeled the temp sensors as Soil and vise versa.
That was a lot of fun doing this and that just to find that out. LOL...

The weird thing is that I was getting seemingly normal soil readings...

Thanks anyways guys.
