Topic: Weather banner (Cumulus) in signature not working....

Well, I just noticed that the weather banner in my signature here and on Sandysoft stopped working on December 8th.  It's v3.0 of Cumulus banner.php dated 2008.  I haven't a clue about what's going on with it....anybody got a pointer?

Sorry cant help you directly, but just in case you dont get it working I have a stand-alone script for Cumulus which you can use just by specifying the URL of your realtime.txt. It is in the stand-alone scripts section of this page:

Ahhhhh.....so it's something to do with my local computer.  I've had instances where I had to go in a refresh a forum page to make the banner update, but this time that isn't working.  Let me clean up a bit (cache, cookies, etc) and see what happens.  Thanks for that info!!!!

Hi,
As mentioned it looks current now, so possibly you or something has fixed it.  I am using the same version and just had a look at the code (not that I understand much of it) and the only thing I had changed in it was the background image.  I was going to ask if yours would work by just calling it by itself i.e. www.BeesWeather.com/??bannerfilename??.php like mine www.komokaweather.com/weather/komoka-now.php

It's fixed.  I ran CCleaner and it's working fine now.  waiukuweather's mention of it having a current date on his computer was the tip-off.  This old recycled Dell business computer has it's quirks (like me).

Paul, it was still stale when I called it up directly...showing the 8th.  Cleaned the junk out and seems to be working ok.

Yep, one of these days when I get smart I'll add some bees to it.  For now, I think what I need is a few stings to urge me on.<grin>  Seriously, it's be a while since I've been stung...it's gonna sound strange, but when a beekeeper doesn't get stung for a while it's kind of like an alcoholic "jonesing" for a drink.

Anytime I have something strange happen on the web, I try a different browser, then computer. Has saved a lot of time.

This is telling me something, but I don't know what it is.<duh>  I use Chrome as my default browser.  I opened up Firefox and the banner is showing a current time.  Can I say <duh> twice in the same paragraph? 

I guess for the time being I'm just going to live with it....attack it when I'm better rested.<groan>

try this:

Just remove all the spaces, I put them there so it does not get converted to the actual picture, the result would be:

I see the banner.

But I see no Cumulus banner on the forum, checking the browser console for this particular thread shows 3 errors!
