Weather Station Reviews and Buying Guide links
« on: November 29, 2015, 11:25:53 PM »
I happened to come across these two sites that seem like they could be useful in providing reviews and other information to help you decide what weather station to buy...

http://www.home-weather-station-reviews.com/

and

http://www.home-weather-stations-guide.com/

I hope these help, never found them when I was trying to decide...

Some of the information is a bit dated ...

That first one looks to be a collection of dead links and little detail.
The 2nd one, looks like it is a pretty good site but it hasn't been updated in four years.

Yeah, I probably should have spent a little more time poking links on that one but on the good site it does have a lot of good basic information for a number of stations still around today.

I also found this more recent one from Wired magazine from Mar 2015:

http://www.wired.com/2015/03/put-4-home-weather-stations-test/

I should mention the Acurite 5-in-1 reviewed by them is USB but I have a wireless 5-in-1 and I have connected my Acurite bridge to a Meteobridge so the bit about it only being USB is just that particular model.

Thanks for the effort, but the "Wired" article was blasted back then by a good many here, and with good reason.

I would be interested in reading the comments about this here but I didn't find the right thread,  do you have link?

It's somewhat surprising how little good information is available to help people decide on a home weather staion.

Lucky for them there are all the experts here if the can find their way.
