EF5 Simulation
« on: November 10, 2014, 12:24:32 PM »
I found a reference to this EF5 simulation on Slashdot (of all places).

It is on YouTube and titled Genesis and maintenance of a long-track EF5 tornado embedded within a supercell thunderstorm by Leigh Orf.

I found it to be an education in itself for how the tornado is formed and what it looks like in the simulation model.

Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JC79gzZykU&feature=youtu.be

Here is the mention on Slashdot: http://science.slashdot.org/story/14/11/09/0137205/researchers-simulate-monster-ef5-tornado

I saw this. Very impressive. Like you Mike, I found it to be educational in the formation of a tornado and the environment it exists in.
