« on: January 16, 2019, 11:52:00 AM »
Just for sharing...my setup to compare various solar radiation shields

From left to right: Davis, Apogee ventilated, meteohelix from Barani design, SIAP (with netatmo module).

...and, your comparison results are?
• SYS: Davis VP2 Vue/WL-IP & Envoy8X/WL-USB;
• DBX2 & DBX1 Precision Digital Barographs
• CWOP: DW6988 - 2 miles NNE of Cortaro, AZ

Unless it's the goal of the comparison, the Apogee is aspirated, all the others are passive.

Oh it's not a one shot comparison, it's a continuous comparison, day by day.
The apogee is ventilated but you can decide the power on the ventilation and you can also decide the speed of ventilation.
I use the apogee like reference.

With solar radiation major then 400w/mq and wind near 0 km/h you begin to see the differfence between the screens.
Thanks to the specific construction of the meteohelix usually is only 1 degree more the full working ventilated apogee, the Davis and the netatmo (in the SIAP screen) usually is more then 2 degrees then the apogee.

Some other graph in the past is here: http://www.kwos.org/weather/weewx/Compare/

I live in South East Indiana and have a Barani shield with a Nimbus Ultra thermometer probe in it,compared to the Davis VP2 aspirated it is dead on it in accuracy after 4 months of observations!
