5-n-1 standard vs. pro

I see that the "pro" version has two solar panels and a fan aspirated temp/hum sensor.

Obviously the standard version only has one solar panel, but does it still have the internal fan?

The single versus dual solar panels was done purely to aid sunrise/sunset fan performance.  The single panel works best at high noon, and not as good with lower sun angles.  Note that the panels *only* power the fan on both units, and are not connected to the electronics.....

So the solar panel doesn't help power the unit at all?  No super capacitor or anything?  Just draws straight off those AA batteries?

Yes.

The solar panel(s) only drive the aspiration fan.

The batteries can power all the other electronics for around 2 years depending on conditions.
