For some reason, WU has decided to post some of my data as a MADIS site on a separate page with a slower update rate.
http://classic.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=MD0148
I'm hoping this is only a temporary glitch. I'll send them a ticket.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Thanks,
-
Yes, did it with me also. Weird.

On the new WU pages, I just checked and I see local PWS showing up twice. I see both my CNYWeather & APRSWXNET for my station and a few others. Up until a few days ago last I checked this wasnt the case.
-
Same here.
The good news, is that I noticed that my password on my second WU station has been wrong since July

Me too but the MADIS station went away about 2am so must have been a temp glitch
-
I'm seeing that, too. So maybe after 24 hours, it will go away.
-
I have always had a ghost MADIS station
for a long time I thought I had a neighbour with same readings
-
Same thing happening here.
-
It didn't happen to me, but it happened to the station down the road from me. Although the second station does not have a MADIS ID. The true ID of the station is E1846, but on Wunderground it shows up as ME1846. Do your stations have a different ID, or is it the MADIS ID?

I have a ghost station here.. http://classic.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=MD4827
This isnt the first time either.
My madis number is dw4827

That brings up 2 questions for me. 1) Why don't I have one of these odd stations? 2) Where is Wunderground geting these IDs from? Where do the ME and MD come from? I am guessing maybe M for MADIS, and E for EW stations, and D for DW stations?

The MD or ME is the number from CWOP. Mine is MD0148 because my CWOP number is DW0148.

Yeah, I get the number part. I just don't get the letter part.

I've sent WU support a message about the issue.. we'll see what they say tomorrow (when tech support is on duty :) )
My own station (and looks like all the WU+CWOP stations are duplicated on the Saratoga, CA WU page too). I originally had C1792 as my MADIS ID (based on what they call me via the CWOP->MADIS ingress). I've changed it to MC1792 in my WU profile, but it seems to have made no difference yet.
-
Same here but a few minutes per day.

The mystery station is gone now from WU. Since I have three stations on the same pole, I had to enter the locations (long, lat) slightly different so they would show up on the wundermap. It might be that the locations being different that what's in cwop/madis was causing the extra station to show up. However, I've had the setup for several years now, so it's odd that it just showed up. But, anyway, I sent them a trouble report and it's fixed.

Well, this morning all the doppleganger MADIS entries on the Saratoga,CA Wunderground.com page are gone.
I did receive a reply from the help desk at WU asking for a screen shot that showed the problem, but since they fixed the issue over night, couldn't send the requested evidence -- Oh well, getting it fixed was the intent anyway and they appear to have done that.

Same here with my two stations. Originally their coordinates were together at my house then a day or two later I changed it to show them separated several hundred feet on either side. The new MADIS postings showed up at my original (house) location before the separation change was made. I had a WU map with four stations with the two MADIS stations at my house. Looks as if the first MADIS location entry sticks with later corrections ignored. I guess enough members questioned WU about this issue as mine is corrected (gone) also.

So YOU started it! [-X
