Icon not showing up on the map
« on: October 06, 2018, 10:58:11 AM »
Hello - new member here. I've had an Ambient weather station for several years and about 3 months ago, the station went bad. I finally got around to getting a new station and put it up on the roof today. The station is reporting and the data is showing up on the WU website but the little icon is not there. The blue circle is there in the correct location but no little icon inside the circle. Anybody experience this? Thanks in advance, the link to the station is here https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KFLDELRA25#history

Seems you dropped off the map for bad data. I don't know how long it takes to be recognizing as having good data and making it back in the map. A brand new station would jump on instantly. Since you are using your old ID who knows. I don't suggest you change ID though. I think this matter will resolve itself or maybe a WU employee can notice this post and fix it for you manually. May be obvious but make sure your old station hardware/software is not still powered and sending bad data (seen this happen to some people.)

I think the lesson to anyone reading this is that if your station is putting out bad data then fix it quick or shut it down. Better to be shut down than to send bad data for prolonged periods. That will ensure you come back online quicker (on the map) when it is fixed.

the data is consistent with the stations around me. Maybe I should unplug the inside display and power back up?

Good deal. I wonder if some WU employee saw this post and fix it or if it happened automatically?

Well enjoy your new weather station and welcome to the forum. I'm often down by you in Boca to visit my parents.

Thanks for the help. We go to Disney so we'll up in your area at the end of the month!
