Nexstorm upload error
« on: May 04, 2008, 08:00:33 AM »
If I attempt to use nexstorm to upload the my lightning data I get an ERROR 40 when it attempts to upload the data. Any thoughts? Right now I am letting my weather software (VWS) do the uploading.

Thanks,
Anthony

Hi Anthony: Error 40 indicates a "FTP SetCurrentDirectory Error" according to the NexStorm manual. It means NexStorm is failing to connect to your server. Check all your ftp settings carefully :)

Without giving too much away here is what I have. In the ftp  server I have anthonysweather.com, for the user name I have my username & for the password I have the password. I also have passive mode selected which is what I use in VWS. So if I use passive mode the port # doesn' matter. The destination dir is blank as it is in VWS. Export data type is screen shot, interval is 2, file extension is jpg.

Thanks,
Anthony

Here are my settings:

ftp server: ftp.beamsvillewx.ca

username:*****

password: ****

port 21

passive mode

destination directory: /public_html/lightning/

export data type: alternate

interval: 5 minutes

file extension: dat

Fill in your destination directory, change the export data type, and the file extension, then see what happens.
