Title: What weather station and software should I buy?
Post by: agentpease on December 04, 2017, 09:00:14 PM
Hello everyone!!!  My husband and I have gone through 2 Davis weather stations over the last 20 years.  Our current Davis Vantage Pro has been offline for about 2 years. It's been in storage for the last year.  We changed locations.  I'm looking to purchase a new weather station (and it doesn't have to be a Davis)  and get a weather website up before the end of the month.  Is there new software that interfaces besides Virtual Weather Station that  I should be using.  If you had to do it all over again.  What would you buy and what software would you be using?

I have enjoyed my VP2 for nearly 10 years and I will get the Davis VP2 again and continue to use Cumulus!  Possible VP2 24FARS and Plus.

Enjoy,
Paul

You could look at using the weather-display.com software
VWS and Cumulus are not being updated anymore (currently)

You say  "Our current Davis Vantage Pro has been offline for about 2 years", now would that be a Vantage Pro as stated or a Vantage Pro 2? If VP2 then nothing wrong with what you have as a base unit, new VP2's would basically be the same, maybe a different Temp Hun sensor and a bit different rain collector but rain collector (if required) is easily updated at little cost

If it is a VP2 then send it back to Davis for a refurb.

If it is a VP2 then send it back to Davis for a refurb.

For a lot cheaper price than new and be as good as new..............
