What happened to the THC268
« on: October 29, 2011, 03:25:26 PM »
Anybody know what happened to the THC268 remote temperature sensor?  I have to replace the one I have outside every so often and its that time again.  Can't find any available.  Did they stop making it?  Is there a replacement?

Thanks.

I don't know how up to date this chart is.  It appears that OS discontinued the THC268.  Don't know what station you have so I hope this chart may help some.

You're looking for the one with the probe?

Andrew

Yep, the probe.  I use one for the pond and one for the freezer.

Try http://radioworld.ca/more-weather-stations-sensors-gauges-thc-268-p-671.html  I see some serious markups from other places (like 80 bucks!! - Practically a Davis price.)
Need low cost IP monitoring?  http://wirelesstag.net/wta.aspx?link=NisJxz6FhUa4V67/cwCRWA or PM me for 50% off Wirelesstags!!

2nd Edit:  eBay auction pulled - no longer available :(

EDIT:  Radioworld emailed that they are out of stock and will be removed from web. Oh well, is it worth $77???

Thanks.  Just ordered 2 from Radioworld.  I saw on eBay for $77, ridiculous!  Hopefully they wiil make a replacement for it soon.

Sorry, wasnt online last night.  Radioworld was my local place, 15 minute drive.  Its where I got my last one.  I was mad spending $40 a few years ago, when they were on ambient for twenty something, but with their shipping plus, UPS extortion and fx at the time it would have been the same price in the end or more, so might as well let radioworld keep their markup.

I guess I an SOL when mine dies.  I like it better than my Davis pool sensor, while its big ugly box is now hidden which made it better, its nice to have the OS's LCD display viewable when in or around the pool.  I couldnt get the OS one to show on my console this summer, but the temps tracked perfectly with the Davis.
