Anyone know the lag time for actual data to display on WU
« on: January 04, 2015, 09:01:13 AM »
I am watching it rain, been raining hard about 20 minutes  WU shows 0 rain rate and 0 accumulation.  Yet they display that the station updated 1 minute ago.
Weather link software and cumulus both show actual data.

Anyone know the delay involved from WU?

It has to do with the reporting software (yours) settings. Also I needed to refresh my display to get the latest info.

I've always had it update instantaneous. You do have rapidfire checked and weather underground enabled in Cumulus under settings.
Edit: I believe real time in Cumulus needs checked also. I've always had mine on but makes since it would be on. Also WU had the ability to turn RF on and off but can't find the button anymore.

You should look at the Weather History Table of your data. I've found that the information that is shown in the script pane under "Current Conditions" is not always accurate. It's a WU wart.

My page updates every 2 to 3 seconds:

http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KTNTENMI3

I use WUHU to upload, but as long as your software has a rapidfire option, it should work the same.

I have a weather sticker from WU on my website that shows the same update rate.  and even my old classic site (the one I prefer and regularly use) has the same quick update:

http://classic.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KTNTENMI3

So check your options in your software and see what the upload capabilities are.

Good luck!  :)
