2902A no Ambient Data
« on: September 03, 2018, 09:14:59 AM »
I hooked up my new Ambient 2902A yesterday and I am having a problem getting data to the Ambient Weather app and/or website. Set up weather underground and after several hours that works fine. Trying to look at the ambient app or on ambientweather.net but I get the message "There's no real-time data yet.  Give us a sec...".  I have rebooted the console and the router several times.  Deleted the device and re-added it and I still have nothing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you register with ambientweather.net? Create an account and register your device.

Make sure you enter the correct MAC address of your console. Double check the number.
https://dashboard.ambientweather.net/devices

Then open the awnet app (different than Ambient Weather app) on your mobile device and connect to the console. Then make sure ambientweather.net is set to ON. Save config.

We have to wait sometime for the data to be seen on ambient weather.net
Just wait for a while and see if it shows up.

Finally back at the house where this unit is installed.  Ambient Weather is set to on with a 1 minute upload interval.  Still nothing.

I had this same problem when got my 2902A unit. I had set it up on my "Guest" wifi, which is isolated from other devices on the same router. The configuration using my Android phone appeared to work, but no data was transmitted to the AmbientWeather website even after waiting several hours. Maybe the configuration process needs the phone and the base station to communicate directly with each other on the wifi LAN, rather than through the remote website (which is an annoying and needless limitation, if so). To make this work, I held down the + and - buttons together on the console to re-enable the internal wifi-setup mode, and used my phone to direct it to my main wifi, and that got data moving to the website immediately.

If what jbeale recommended doesn't work then send an email to support@ambientweather.com and include the MAC address of your WS-2902A. Tell them it isn't working have them check to be sure that your MAC address didn't get missed from being in their table for licensing purposes on the site. Let them know what is happening and perhaps they have some other advice.

Also review all of these knowledge base articles to see if these procedures help (work through all of these regardless of problem description):
