I doubt it. I suspect that someone resigned and the only person left to maintain the systems has no idea how it's all wired together. How do I know that? I've been that guy.

Actually,

There are at least a dozen IT/software positions listed on their site as being available. I suspect this has a lot to do with their current situation and subsequent downfall, and I would not look for this to improve anytime soon, if ever.

Welcome to IBM's "cloud initiative" and WATSON. Anyone considering IBM for anything these days should look elsewhere.

Looks like they are doing a server migration, just a guess but dashboard and all personal stations are up and down. Front web page looks different from what I remember also but rarely visited so not sure when it changed.

We are still working on the problem. Bringing everything back online created a network switch problem. IT continues to address the issue.

Yes, it is a shame. WU was a trusted source for many years. I suspect that IBM pays no attention to the website but is using the data that we're feeding them for their analytics so they're probably paying attention to that part of the system.

Even if they do, they don't care and/or are incompetent, because they've been bashed here unmercifully (rightfully so) for...how long?

I had been using WU for the forecast on my website, but until they fix what is ailing them, I went back to NOAA.

Good find. To summarize (perhaps uncharitably), their heads are in the cloud, but their collective feet are in quicksand (?)

Commercial sites appear to also be using wu data. IntelliCast, while failing to display extended forecast, had something flash by about api.wunderground.

I have not been getting emailed weather alerts for some time.

I've been a paid member for a number of years and a PWS contributor (including now) and a former webcam contributor.

Truly a shame.

Same as me, however.... I had to go back to the program and request that the alerts be sent to me. I think when they made the switch to a different server company, everything went FUBAR. So go back and have them send the alerts again. I had to do it and I am repeating myself, must be drinking decaf or something similar

I think I tried that, but will try it again to make sure. I'm now also getting alerts from the Weather Channel, so I can confirm when I get them and when I don't.

What is with their ripping station icons off the map? How bad are their algorithms?

There is a heat wave where I am (in Australia) 42deg+ C this morning and a cooler sea breeze has hit and temps are dropping fast and as each WU station gets the sea breeze and drops in temp it is being removed from the map as its temp is dropping like 10deg C.

Where I live, I share my island with 12 other stations.

As of right now, there are 4 other stations.

Even the International Airport's station has vanished from the map.
