Shot from my Foscam FI9804P camera.

My webpage gets updated every minute and I overlay the weather conditions by pulling data out of the clientraw.txt file from weather display and use ImageMagick to place the text on the image.

Nice image, kc2kzz.  Rich and vibrant colors.  Moving the camera to shoot up about the height of your text would still give a good image but add a little more sky...not necessary but thought I'd mentioned it.  Of course if it's more of a security camera that doubles as a weathercam then you're good to go.  Either way, nice setup!!!!  ;)

Thanks for the reminder!  Did a bit of restructuring of my websites, so needed to edit my original post (#88) from a few years ago.

I see some images not updating, like thread title suggest. For anyone wondering or not sure how, this works for me.  Example: Size can be different depends on image itself, URL, image name all different.

The exposure on that skyline is dead-on!!!!  Nice shot...I'm looking at it at 3:15PM CST (Alabama time) and it's nighttime there but the skyline is definitely visible! :)

Amcrest 1080p PoE IP camera. Indoor, but can be indoor or outdoor. Cam has Native POE so do not need a PoE splitter, but DID need an injector.  Worked with the 48V power or with the splitter on it. Using Blue Iris Software to Wunderground. Paid 79.99 for it at Microcenter.

Good sky shot.  It takes in a good part of the neighborhood but it's easy to tell that it's concentrating on the weather/sky.  Are you saving individual images or overwriting old images?

No local saving is occurring. All via Amcrest cloud (4 hours) and wunderground (does 1 loop every 24 from what I can tell). That's good enough for me.

Was just wondering.  Some people may object to having the camera pointing towards the playground equipment but having archived images for security purposes might be something that calms that issue (is there even is an issue).  Of course, saving images might contribute to the issue (again, if there even is an issue).  A local business had it's front door kicked in one night and some items stolen.  My camera captured a still image every 25-30 seconds...we were able to determine that a person seen about the time of the break-in on my camera was seen on another (security) camera walking through a nearby alleyway.  That pretty much confirmed the perp's description.  I never did hear if they caught the guy.  Just thinking... :)

Webcam number 3 up and running. About to install webcam 4 here in a few weeks. I will have one pointing in each of the major cardinal directions(N, S, E, W).  This one points WNW. These cameras are home built using a raspberry pi and it's camera module.  I also have their movie loops sent over to Youtube each night. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2X3uvFF1hiKrTccpNh_2VQ

I just looked at your image this morning and...are those stars that I'm seeing or camera noise?  Looks like stars to me this early morning...showing 4:18 your local time.  Nice horizon and sky!

Indeed they are. Since my camera's are custom built I have two modes on them. Day and Night. Day mode is automatic camera settings, but night is long shutter times(3 second)! I have been able to see lightning with these and of course star movement. All my cameras also upload to youtube which makes for a boring channel most of the time. Last year I caught this storm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UihB9iQt5o4&list=PLu7dJllMb-gEYc73E8QKGyDGZZiXwhBYc&index=4

I would like to think I can stop with this hobby anytime but I just got a Raspberry Pi Zero with the new 8MP camera coming in the mail to upgrade my north facing camera so I guess I can't stop.. :)

Enjoy,

Nickolas
