Vantage pro 2 - Rain gauge suddenly under reading
« on: December 19, 2020, 01:05:34 PM »
Hi,

I've had my Pro2 12 months now and the rain gauge has always been within +/-3% of the manual rain gauge that is at an identical height and less than 5 cm apart. In the last 3 weeks I've noticed that the readings between the Pro2 and the manual gauge have started to be significantly different.......the Pro 2 always reads about 40% less.
The Pro2 is completely free from debris, no cobwebs, moves freely and the spirit level is completely on the money.

Any suggestions as to what could be causing this issue ? As I mentioned it consistently under reads  by 40%.

Thanks.

If you're able, take your console out to the ISS and manually tip the mechanism and see what's what. At least it'll be a place to start trouble shooting. Remember, it may take 10-ish seconds to relay the tip to the console.
