Topic: Bees in weather station

I have a problem with bees nesting in my WS-1001 WIFI Weather Station, how can I keep bees from nesting there, does anyone have this problem?

My neighbor has this problem with wasps. He just sent me this picture this week. I'm not sure what he is going to do after cleaning it. Because they tend to come back to the same place and build a new hive.

How many bees? I know you won’t be counting them.

Bees and wasps are completely different. The forager bees go out of the hive looking for pollen, nectar, and water during the day which helps keep the temperature down.

So is it bees are around the weather station or are they trying to set up a hive? It is highly unlikely to be the later as most bees live in colonies and that contains 30000 - 50000 bees. Of course there are exceptions such as Australian native bees that we have locally are solo.

They also build the hive to maintain a constant temperature. But when they get overcrowded they do swam and move to find/make new hives.

My weather station stopped working so I took it apart and found 2 small nests inside.
Now I have to buy a new one but will have to come up with something to keep them out

It must be 5 o'clock somewhere.  I read this as "BEERS in weather station".

Bees actually live in large hives with thousands of their closest friends. I am thinking you are having a problem with yellow jackets (they look like bees but they bite, not sting). They also build small nests as they are wasps not bees. An internet search suggests methods for discouraging them from returning.

But beer in the weather station would be a terrible waste.

Uh, the yellow jackets around here never got the memo that they only bite and don't sting. 

...and most yellow jackets lives in underground bunkers.

A note:  If you see a papery-type of nest it is a wasp/hornet/jellow jacket/etc.  If you see the *wax* comb then you have honey bees.  Of course there are solitary bees and bumble bees that live underground in "neighborhoods" that will have small amounts of honey stored.
