It will be nice to get some rain, even if it means I have to forgo my telescope for a few days.  I just hope it's a decent amount but not all in one round - the streets in the valley are NOT designed to handle large amounts of rain as was evident by the storm last month that closed the I-17 in north Phoenix for several hours.

Looks like you guys may dodge the bullet on this one as it's still progged to squarely hit my area. We don't see these to often so no telling. I remember 10-15 years ago we were supposed to get nailed by the left overs from a system, Yuma got blasted and we didn't even get a single cloud, let alone rain. Lots of egg on mets faces after that one!

Yes but look on the bright side - the temps tomorrow will be perfect!  :-P

Checking the latest model predictions most are still showing Newton coming up thru south-central AZ before turning toward NM and out to the midwest.  Try to stay dry down there!

Here in far eastern Tucson at the base of the Rincon Mtns, we got 1.13" of rain over 13 hours from Newton. Virtually all soaked in due to the length of time and dryness! What was strange is that there was virtually no wind during this time.

My citrus trees loved the rain

Maricopa....We got about .12 inch in a 24 hour period.

Typical for us; storms etc usually pass /loop around us.

I got 1.36" here on the west side, excellent soaker. More like a winter storm.
